Matthew Cook has been designing Internet sites since 1996. Originally he began tinkering with sites during his days at Fairfield University. It began as a hobby and a means of helping students learn more about the Fairfield University Psychology Student Association. With a tenacious attitude for learning, Matt began to read about HTML coding and programming in Perl, Java, and other languages. He then began to explore graphic design and developed the technical proficiency in Adobe Photoshop. He began as a consultant with Age Vision, a web design firm in New Jersey.

The technical and consulting skills that he acquired in conjunction with his creativity and entrepreneurial work ethic helped to grow his hobby into a successful business called Web Design by Cookie. Based in the Historic West End of insurance capital of the world, Hartford, Connecticut, Web Design by Cookie focuses on the non-profit sector of organizations, churches, social service agencies, and academic sites.

Web Design by Cookie provides internet hosting, email services, domain name registration, custom web application development, graphic design, project management, consulting and maintenance services. The firm utilizes a variety of web technologies and specializes in designing sites on the Cold Fusion server platform.
