Duties: Develop and implement formal research designs, analyze, interpret, and prepare data, prepare narrative and statistical reports, develop and maintain computerized databases, and develop data collection forms for an evaluation of the State of Connecticut's substance abuse prevention system and the implementation of science-based prevention programs.  Supervisor: Jane Ungemack, Dr.P.H. 40 hours weekly.

Duties: Conduct telephone interviews, collect, enter and analyze data, perform literature searches, assist in the development of reports and manuscripts, provide support services for research projects, perform trainee assignments in designated research protocols, procedures, and techniques for a substance abuse prevention community needs assessment. Designed and implemented an exploratory study involving learning styles (Kolb, 1993) of college freshmen in relation to grade point average and academic standing to examine the high school-to-college transition. Intern, Research and Evaluation Area, The Consultation Center, Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT. September, 1996 - May, 1997. Duties: Data entry and analysis, performed literature searches, prepared manuscripts, co-facilitated focus groups, and participated in other aspects of the research process. Research Assistant, Fairfield University. January, 1996 - May, 1996. Study involving children’s cognition and their views of adults and the elderly. Duties: Interviewed children ages 6-14, transcription, data collection, and analysis. Supervisors: Dorothea Braginsky, Ph.D. & Judy Primavera, Ph.D. 5 hours weekly.

 

Assistant Project Director, Family Literacy Project, Fairfield University, September, 1995 - May, 1997. Duties: Data collection, entry, and analysis, administered cognitive language and developmental screenings to at-risk preschoolers, interviewed parents, prepared narrative and statistical manuscripts, and trained and supervised 150 student literacy volunteers annually.
