The Great Stone Face -
Franconia Notch, NH

A beautiful limited
edition photograph of the Old Man on the Mountain taken during
a crisp autumn morning in October 2002, some six months prior
to the landmark literally falling off the face of the earth
in May 2003 after nearly a century of efforts
to preserve the 40 foot stone face from the same elements
that created it. They say in New Hampshire that you live
free and die, this old man did so for millions of years up
in the clouds before his time came to an end just as mysteriously
as he arrived. Today all that remains is an indistinguishable
jagged pile of rubble. May he rest in peace.
Each frame ready or framed photograph
is individually numbered (a maximum of 25 8x10 framed prints
will be produced) and signed by the photographer with acid
free inks. A description
of the object photographed and information about the photographer
is affixed to the back. Read this photo's
description with
history of the state landmark in PDF format with Adobe Acrobat
Reader. These make excellent gifts or additions to your home
or office.
