High School
I attended a Bishop Hendricken High School
in Warwick, Rhode Island. Hendricken is an all-male, catholic
preparatory school founded and maintained by the Christian
Brothers. It is one of only two single sex catholic schools left
in the state. While at Hendricken, I was involved with a variety
of extracurricular activities including the varsity ice hockey
team. I graduated in the top 10% of my high school class in
1993.
Fairfield University I enrolled in Fairfield University in the fall of
1993 as a biology major. At the time, I imagined myself becoming
a pediatrician. After just getting by in Biology, Chemistry,
Organic Chemistry and the like, I decided that the pre-med life
was not for me. In my sophomore year, I changed to a Psychology
major. It was one of the best changes in my life. I also minored
in Biology. During my senior year I received two awards:
Distinguished Contribution In the Field of Psychology and Most
Distinguished Work in the Social Sciences. I graduated from
Fairfield in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. University of Connecticut (UConn)
After graduating from Fairfield, I decided to
take some time off from educational pursuits. I didn't take much
time off, a summer and a semester to be exact. In the fall of
Spring of 1999, I took one class in the Masters of Public Health
(MPH) Program at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
The following fall, I matriculated into the MPH program and have
been taking evening classes on a part-time basis ever since. I
expect to graduate in May of 2002 and am in the process of
writing my thesis. I can't wait until its all over!
